Enrique Iglesias Wows Walmartians

I tweeted from my @RogersLana twitter account the other day that I had two requests for Enrique Iglesias.
I asked the twitterverse for Iglesias to play “Hero” and “Be With Me” Friday at the Walmart shareholders meeting.
Thank you, Enrique. He sang both songs and I, and 16,000 others, were there to hear and see it in Fayetteville, Ark.

Josh Groban Raises Up Shareholders

The last line of the Josh Groban song “You Raise Me Up” closed the Walmart shareholders meeting shorty before 10:30 a.m. Friday in Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville, Ark.
“You raise me up, to all that I can be.”
The apropo ending came after Mike Duke, Walmart chief executive officer, talked about how the company will train talent, become a truly global company and keep growing sales as the retailer looks into the future.

Jamie Foxx Plays Piano

Actor and singer Jamie Foxx took the stage at the Walmart shareholders meeting.
The screen behind him displays the walmart.com website.
Foxx joked that he used the website as inspiration for his songs.

Deaf Inc. Interpreter Signing Walmart Events

BENTONVILLE — Candace Woodside swung her hips, paused to play air guitar, used phantom drumsticks and used her hands to sign lyrics.
Woodside was popular  at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville, Ark., where she signed the songs by REO Speedwagon and the Barenaked Ladies.
A spotlight was on Woods and her hands. It helped the deaf  and hearing impaired Walmart employees —  coming from across the United States and from around the world to attend the week’s annual shareholder meeting events — understand  lyrics and enjoy concerts just like anyone else.
