NAR numbers questioned by CoreLogic

In a recent article about the January housing market report from northwest Arkansas, we at First Arkansas News called into question the accuracy of the National Association of Realtors’ (NAR) interpretation of the housing market reports it releases.
It turns out we’re not the only ones suspicious of what the NAR reports these days. According to a Wall Street Journal article, CoreLogic is suggesting that NAR’s numbers could be off substantially. Real estate sales up, prices down in northwest Arkansas

“They speak for themselves.”
That’s the comment Eric Harris, a Realtor with Weichert Realtors — Downum Group in Springdale, had when he looked over the January housing market numbers detailing sales of new and existing homes in Benton, Carroll, Madison and Washington counties in northwest Arkansas.

AP viewing iPhone to Verizon as a certainty?

Just the other day, First Arkansas News reported on rumors that Verizon will announce at an 11 a.m. press conference on Tuesday that it will have the Apple iPhone available for customers.
The Associated Press today added to those rumors — or, perhaps, got closer to confirming them — by reporting that Verizon is expected to make that announcement. The AP joins such as heavy hitters as the Wall Street Journal in treating the rumored announcement like a certainty, giving credence to the notion that Verizon will finally have the iPhone …
