NWA homeless skyrockets by 36 percent

The 2011 Northwest Arkansas Homeless Census is complete and preliminary results are not good. The number of homeless in NWA has risen to more than 2,000 people, up 36 percent from 1,287 two years ago.
Here’s what coordinator Kevin Fitzpatrick had to say in the preliminary report:
“The 2011 point-in-time (PIT) homeless census in Northwest Arkansas is completed and the news, as expected, is not good. Here’s a subject that’s been pretty much beaten to death here in the Natural State — the Razorbacks should square off against the Red Wolves.
