Hogs on Ice?

Yep!  The U of A has a hockey team.  It’s a club sport, but these guys are good!  They’re so good, in fact, that when I went to their game against Tulane Friday night, I found out that the Tulane team decided it was better to forfeit the game than play these guys.  I later heard that Tulane was planning to show up for Saturday night’s game or else they could get kicked out of the league.  Instead of disappointing their fans who showed up to see a hockey game, …

The historic visit of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to the University of Arkansas was recorded and is available on video and will be available as a text transcript for anyone who could not attend or wishes to re-visit the panel discussion and lecture, according to a press release from university relations.

Census to give snapshot view of NWA homeless

NORTHWEST ARKANSAS-As thousands of people in Northwest Arkansas lie safe in their warm beds, there are many who don’t have that opportunity.
A census completed last week will share just how many that is, and coordinators think the number of homeless people in Benton and Washington County will increase drastically from the last census.
The point-in-time census was coordinated by the University of Arkansas’ Community and Family Institute, directed by Kevin Fitzpatrick. Volunteers went to various locations throughout the two counties to ask detailed questions of people who don’t have a home …
