Beebe declares state of emergency, more bad weather in store

As if Monday night wasn’t bad enough, the National Weather Service reports that more bad weather is on the way.
First, let’s review. Storms bringing buckets of rain, high winds and a tornado or two pounded central Arkansas on Monday night, while flooding was a problem in northwest Arkansas throughout Monday. How bad was the flooding in the northwest corner of the state? So bad that the University of Arkansas canceled classes around 3:30 p.m. and sent everyone home.

This will come to no surprise to most First Arkansas News readers: it’s been storming a lot in the Natural State the last week. There’s been numerous tornado warnings throughout the state, but that’s not been the primary concern, it seems.
