Snow hits central Arkansas — sort of

Schools throughout Friday either canceled classes or shot down early due to snow, but the streets never got that bad.
The snow started falling here in central Arkansas at about 9 a.m. on Friday, was gone 12 hours later and left a lot of wet streets, icy windshields and snow-covered lawns in its wake. Snow in Arkansas

The National Weather Service warned a lot of parts of Arkansas would get hit with snow on Sunday and it appears that forecast was correct.
The snow started falling in parts of central Arkansas about 1 p.m. and hit areas of the state farther south earlier. By 3:30 p.m., the Benton School District started calling parents here in town and telling them what children have been hoping for all weekend — schools in the district are closed tomorrow.

Winter storm warning revised for Arkansas

Just yesterday, the National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for Arkansas.
As anyone who has lived in this state might tell you, if you don’t like the weather in Arkansas just wait five minutes and it will change. Apparently, the same is true for weather forecasts.
Yes, we still have a winter weather forecast in effect, but it seems the storm to the southwest isn’t moving through the state as quickly as expected. The National Weather Service says we still have snow on the way, but it will arrive later …

Winter storm warning issued for Arkansas

The National Weather Service in Little Rock has forecast winter weather this weekend for all of Arkansas and portions of the surrounding states of Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Tennessee.
According to the Weather Service, a cold front pushed through Arkansas from the north today and cold, dry weather will follow it on Saturday and Sunday. Meanwhile, precipitation is building from the south and should bring snow early Sunday through early Monday.
