Hyperkin announces Retron5 delay, price increase

About this time last year, First Arkansas News ran an article waxing poetic about the forthcoming Hyperkin Retron5. The Retron5 has been promoted as just the machine a lot of us people who love classic console gaming have wanted for a long time. The problem with a lot of classic consoles is that they look terrible on HDTV sets and the Retron5 is supposed to solve that problem by upscaling games to run in 720p high definition through an HDMI port.
Anyone who has ever plugged, say, a Sega Genesis into …

The lucky folks over at Engadget caught up with Hyperkin this week at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) and reported that the Retron 5 sounds even better than it did when we at First Arkansas News wrote about it a few weeks ago.

Bargains Galore on 64 set for Aug. 8-10

It has been said that what appears in a newspaper is often determined by what the managing editor sees when he’s driving to work in the morning. While that may or may not be true, here’s something that is verifiable — here at First Arkansas News, what is sometimes covered depends on what terms pop up in our search analytics (for the record, the most popular search term over the past few weeks has related to the anticipated and snazzy retro gaming console, the Hyperkin RetroN 5 — go figure).
One …

It would be a tragedy if our tens of fans missed a single thing that was posted in the past week. To avoid such unspeakable tragedy, then, we’ve made it easy to catch up on …

Underwhelmed by the announcements of the Microsoft Xbox One, the Sony Playstation 4 and the already emerged Nintendo Wii U? Well, buck up, pilgrim — the forthcoming Hyperkin RetroN 5 may be just the thing to get you excited about a new console coming out this year.

Awesome Site of the Week: ‘The Video Game Critic’

It’s recently come to my attention that some people in the world don’t stay glued to First Arkansas News. Indeed, it would seem the Internet is about a whole lot more than just this site. To that end, it’s time to start a new series — Awesome Site of the Week. Consider this series to be a guide — something you can rely on to tell you …
