State Supreme Court upholds $150k judgment against Arkansas Realtors Association

On September 25, the Arkansas Supreme Court upheld a May 2012 judgment from the Washington County Circuit court ordering the Arkansas Realtors Association (ARA) to pay $150,000 for breaching a contract with Real Forms Arkansas.
The contract at issue was entered into in 2010 by Springdale-based Real Forms and the ARA. Real Forms was under a five-year contract to provide real estate contracts software to the ARA which would be sold to Realtors throughout the Natural State. The contract would have generated at least $600,000 in revenue for Real Forms.

Arkansas metro home sales up in June

The City Wire in Fort Smith has posted its June Arkansas Homes Sales Report for four metro areas in Arkansas and sales numbers continued to climb during that month.
The report covers the four largest metros in Arkansas — central Arkansas, the Fort Smith area, the Jonesboro area and northwest Arkansas. Except for the Fort Smith area, all metros reported gains in sales for June. Furthermore, sales for the six months of 2013 were up 9.57 percent compared to the first half of 2012. Arkansas homes sales improve again in April

The City Wire in Fort Smith, on Thursday, posted The Arkansas Home Sales Report for April 2013. That report covers four major markets in Arkansas and found that sales were up a cumulative 11.06 percent through April in central Arkansas, the Fort Smith area, the Jonesboro area and northwest Arkansas.

Large market home sales up in February

The numbers are in and homes sales in February were up compared to the same month a year ago in three of the four largest housing markets in Arkansas.
According to the February housing market report released by The City Wire in Fort Smith, the combined number of homes sales in central Arkansas, the Fort Smith area, the Jonesboro area and northwest Arkansas totaled 1,169 in February — up 12.4 percent from 1,040 sales in the same month a year ago. Large-market home sales down in January

The City Wire in Fort Smith has released its inaugural Arkansas Homes Sales Report today, showing that real estate markets were down in the four largest areas of the state in January.
The report covers 14 counties in Arkansas, but those are the most populous ones and around 70 to 75 percent of home sales take place in those counties.The report will be released monthly by The City Wire and will contain in-depth commentary from economists and Arkansas Realtors dealing with markets on a day-to-day basis.

Northwest Arkansas homes sales up for November, year

It appears that 2011 was a good year in northwest Arkansas as far as homes sales go. Sales were on the rise again in November, adding to a trend that’s been shaping up all year long in Benton, Carroll, Madison and Washington counties.
In November, Realtors in those counties sold 419 new and existing, single-family residences in northwest Arkansas through Arkansas Regional MLS (ARMLS). Robertson pleads guilty to ripping off Hot Springs Realtors

Jennifer R. “Jenni” Robertson, the former executive officer for the Hot Springs Board of Realtors, pleaded guilty on Dec. 13 to forgery charges stemming from her unauthorized use of the organization’s funds.
According to a docket report for State v. Jennifer Robertson — case no. 26CR-11-422 in the Garland County Circuit Court — the former executive officer was charged on June 17 with three counts of forgery, all Class “C” felonies. 3 northwest Arkansas Realtor boards to vote on merger

Members of the Bentonville-Bella Vista Board of Realtors, Rogers Board of Realtors and Metro Area Board of Realtors will vote on Jan. 11 on a merger.
Should that merger pass, the new board will be the largest in state according to membership counts from the National Association of Realtors. The Metro Area Board has 898 members and covers Washington County and the western half of Benton County. The Rogers Board has 468  members in the Rogers and Lowell areas while the Bentonville-Bella Vista board has 178 members.

For the fourth month in a row, homes sales increased in the expanded central Arkansas area.
For the purposes of this report, the central Arkansas market includes Faulkner, Grant, Lonoke, Pulaski and Saline counties (which are located in the Little Rock-North Little Rock-Conway Metropolitan Statistical Area) and the nearby Jefferson and White counties.
