The Pogoplug – decent media server for less than $25

A couple of years ago, I got an idea –wouldn’t it be dandy to convert my DVD collection to digital files, stick them on a couple of big hard drives and then stream them to my Xbox 360 in the living room and LG Smart TV Adapter in the bedroom? Wouldn’t it be great to be able to stream content to my iPhone and Android tablet, too, and how great would it be to be able to access files on the Internet from any Internet browser?

‘First Arkansas News’ needs an ad rep

Things have been going well here at First Arkansas News since the site launched back in April.
We’ve got some great reporters submitting articles and now average around 3,500 unique hits per week. Furthermore, there are more than a few regulars who stop in to read articles regularly and the growth in the number of people subscribing to the site through email and the RSS feed has been impressive when one considers the site is less than a year old.

Freepress.net and the future of media

The members of Free Press and one of that organization’s projects, Save the News, have asked the same question that a lot of us have – what is in store for journalism’s future?
Josh Stearns, program manager for Free Press and Save the News, said he’s not sure what the answer to that question is. However, he said his group wants to be involved in helping determine what media will look like in the future.
