Lifelong Learning Expo coming to Rogers

Learning isn’t just something we do in school, nor is it something we do only as a child. The Lifelong Learning Center of Northwest Arkansas is dedicated to the idea that people of all ages can learn and the act of learning helps keep people young.
The center, which opened in Bentonville earlier this year, offers a wide variety of enrichment courses for adults. LLCNWA is also hosting a Lifelong Learning and Activity Expo July 16 and July 17 at the John Q. Hammons Center in Rogers.

Walmart Learning on the Job Counts for Education

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Walmart employees learn on the job and their work and life experience can help them earn college credit.
Bentonville, Ark.-based Walmart announced Thursday that employees can count their work experience to earn up to 45 percent of college credit toward an associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree.
That is through a partnership with American Public University in West Virginia. Walmart employees take specific courses online, such as organizational management or marketing, and get a 15 percent reduction in tuition, said Deisha Galberth, Walmart spokeswoman.
