Tony Prothro suspended and we’re not sure why

The Saline Courier reported that Tony Prothro, the superintendent of the Benton School District since 2006, was suspended with pay by the School Board at a meeting on Monday night.
Dan Jordan, director of personnel and student affairs for the district, has been named interim superintendent. The decision was effective immediately and the school board meant it — by Tuesday afternoon, Prothro’s name was removed from the District Internet site as superintendent and Jordan’s was substituted. Snow in Arkansas

The National Weather Service warned a lot of parts of Arkansas would get hit with snow on Sunday and it appears that forecast was correct.
The snow started falling in parts of central Arkansas about 1 p.m. and hit areas of the state farther south earlier. By 3:30 p.m., the Benton School District started calling parents here in town and telling them what children have been hoping for all weekend — schools in the district are closed tomorrow.
