iPhone 4S — 4G or not?

Buried amongst all the talk of the new Apple iPad this week was news of the release of iOS 5.1.
What is significant about the new Apple operating system? Owners of the iPhone 4S who are AT&T customers and downloaded the update may have noticed the “3G” icon on their phones had been replaced with a “4G” icon. It’s official — Verizon has the iPhone

For the past couple of days, we’ve tracked the rumor that Verizon would soon be able to make the Apple iPhone available to its customers.

The list of customer complaints means a sigh of relief if Verizon does, in fact, use the NYC press conference to launch the iPhone on its network on Tuesday.

Free calls on your iPhone? Just Whistle…

So here it is near the end of the month and I’ve got 28 minutes left on my calling plan with AT&T.
Yes, after you burn up those plan minutes, things get expensive, don’t they? Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a way to use that iPhone to make free calls?
Well, there is. Just open the “App Store” from your iPhone, run a search for “Whistle Phone,” download the app and you’ll be on your way to making and receiving calls for free.
How? Whistle is a VOIP (voice over Internet …
