Benton Realtor named ARELLO president elect

Karen Crowson – principal broker at Crye-Leike Realtors in Benton and a member of the Benton-Bryant Realtors Association – has been named president elect of the Association of Real Estate License Law Officials (ARELLO), an international organization.
Crowson, a member of the Arkansas Real Estate Commission, will be the second Arkansan named president of ARELLO. Gary Isom, executive director of the Real Estate Commission, was the ARELLO president in 2010.

BPO legislation clears Senate subcommittee

After months of squabbling, a bill that would regulate broker price opinions (BPOs) prepared by real estate agents cleared the Arkansas Senate Committee on Insurance and Finance with a “do pass” recommendation.
The bill at issue — SB720 — is scheduled to go before the full Senate at 1:30 p.m. today. The battle lines are pretty well defined on this one, folks.
