Buck Rogers

A lot of us Generation X types learned about Buck Rogers from watching that television series starring Gil Gerard and Erin Gray that first aired in 1979.

Ah, but Buck Rogers has been around for longer than that. The character first showed up in a pulp fiction story in 1929 and soon appeared in a successful comic strip series. Buck Rogers appeared in a lot more than just short stories and comic strips — he showed up on television, in movies and (of course) on the radio. Heck, ole Buck’s even been in a video game or two.

But we’re primarily concerned about the Buck Rogers radio program here. Buck Rogers was on the radio from 1932 to 1947, airing four times a week. Sadly, there are only a few of those radio programs that survived and we’ve got most of them here (from what I understand, only 14 programs are in circulation and two of them are of horrible quality — we’ve posted the remaining 12 here).

Click the below players and get ready for some great science fiction, kids. Be sure to check out our other OTR serials while you’re at it.
