I partially grew up in a small town Methodist Church (Fordyce) and was babtized in another (Stuttgart). My grandfather, a godly and most admirable man, was a Methodist deacon. Sometimes I ruefully say: “I was a Methodist; then I became a Christian.” Political correctness is not Scripture. I grieve.
