The newest patch from Epic Games includes new skins which look set to go live in the weeks to come.
Epic Games revealed the Fortnite patch notes 4.2 to fans soon after servers were taken offline for maintenance ahead of the update's rollout. This week, the update brings Fortnite to version 4.2, and while this patch may not be quite as big as some of the ones we've seen in the past, there are still a few new additions worth checking out.
Additionally, update 4.2 adds a new consumable to Battle Royale: apples. The patch was expected earlier but after a couple of problems, it has just recently released.
The description said 'Announcing the return of the Solid Gold Limited Time Mode, this time with the Heavy Shotgun and Burst Assault Rifle joining the mix'. There are several different ways to obtain these sweet-looking babies - you can get them from treasure chests and vendors, you can also get them from supply drops and you can also get them as a regular loot as well. Do you prefer it over our other Epic and Legendary assault rifles? Apples can "uncommonly be found around certain trees throughout the map", and restore five health when consumed. Unlike bandages, players can use them to restore their health all the way to 100 percent if they find enough of them.
A new "Fortnite" patch removed the Thanos event and added new weapons to the game. Epic has a detailed explanation of how that works right here.
This will be joined by other new items, including three pickaxes, two gliders and three additional back bling. As its name implies, it is a rocket launcher that fires four rockets at once. The mode where one player could play as the supervillain Thanos in Battle Royale is no longer available as of Wednesday.
