Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg gave another public mea culpa for the social network's massive data leak when he took the stage at its annual F8 developer conference on Tuesday morning - and introduced a new feature to help users safeguard their data.

For Zuckerberg, that's meant repeated apologies to users and lawmakers, two days of congressional questioning about whether and how the company protects its users' privacy.
"Overall we're going to keep investing heavily in security and privacy", said Zuckerberg, though cautioning that security "isn't a problem you ever really solve".
While Zuckerberg repeatedly appealed to developers to join Facebook's cause to connect the world, he had one other announcement to win over the crowd: Everyone at the conference is receiving a free Oculus Go.
In written evidence submitted to United Kingdom parliament last week, Facebook revealed it had found "certain billing and administrative connections" between Cambridge Analytica and AIQ, the data firm that helped Vote Leave in the run up to the Brexit referendum and spent $2m on Brexit-related ads.
