By the end of the day, Israeli army snipers have killed four Palestinians, including 15-year-old Mohammad Ayyoub, from Jabalya, who was shot in the head, injured 729, including 45 children, among them 156 hit by live ammunition, four of them in critical condition, and around 20 shot in the neck and head, as reported by the Ministry of Health.
Another 133 were injured, the Palestinian Red Crescent said, as Palestinians demonstrated at five points along the fence separating Israel from Gaza.
The ministry says the man had been shot in the head.
US President Donald Trump's Mideast envoy Jason Greenblatt also said on Twitter that "A full investigation by Israel of Mohammed Ayoub's death is underway so that we will be able to understand what happened". Significantly more than 1,600 are wounded by live performances at the past few months, according to the Gaza wellbeing Ministry.
On Dec. 6, 2017, Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel's capital, drawing worldwide condemnation and angry protests in the Palestinian territories. It says 40 protesters were wounded by gunfire or overcome by tear gas fired by Israeli troops from across the border fence.
It has accused Hamas of using the protests as a cover for carrying out attacks.
"I call on the United Nations representatives to condemn Hamas for encouraging violence, continuing to strive to create instability, and the despicable exploitation of women and children by placing them in harm's way", Danon said.

Over the weeks, Israel's use of lethal force has drawn global condemnation. The UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process expressed outrage over the killing and called for an investigation.
The European Parliament Thursday issued a resolution calling on Israel to "refrain from using lethal force against unarmed protesters" and noting that the use of such force against unarmed protesters constituted a "serious breach" of the Geneva Conventions, i.e., a war crime.
The Israeli military said that around 3,000 Palestinians were involved in the latest protest, and that its troops responded "with riot dispersal means and are firing in accordance with the rules of engagement".
"Mohammed did not deserve to be executed", the 42-year-old said as mourners streamed to the family's shack in the Jebaliya refugee camp.
"It is time for the ICC Prosecutor to open an investigation against the Israeli Prime Minister [Benjamin Netanyahu] and his Defense Minister [Avigdor Lieberman] on the events of sniping our people and our children in the Gaza Strip".
Gazans used catapults and sling-shots to launch stones at Israeli forces, and some Palestinians brought wire-cutters to cut through the border fence, ignoring leaflets dropped by the Israeli military warning residents not to approach the frontier.
