There will be five engine options available: a 1.0-litre petrol unit in three power outputs of 85hp, 100hp and 125hp, all driven through a six-speed manual gearbox; and a new 1.5-litre diesel engine available in 95hp or 120hp versions.
Engine specifications for North America will be announced closer to launch, scheduled for the second half of 2019.
At simultaneous events in Europe and China Ford revealed the all-new Focus, bound for global duty. In Europe, customers have a 2.0-liter EcoBlue diesel available.

The cabin looks much nicer than the outgoing model and thanks to a longer wheelbase (length is increased by 18mm, the wheelbase by 53mm), there's more space in there as well. Recall, Ford is retooling the current Focus' plant in MI for Ranger and Bronco production. An electronic parking brake replaces the current lever-type brake, and the gear shifter is also gone, replaced by a rotary gearshift dial.
It features Ford's latest SYNC3 infotainment system with eight-inch touchscreen, Band & Olufsen sound system and wireless charging.
It also has Ford's adaptive front lighting system with new camera-based Predictive curve light and sign-based light that pre-adjust headlamp patterns for improved visibility by monitoring bends in the road and - for the first time in the industry - road signs.
