According to The Hollywood Reporter, the latest milestone for the Marvel superhero flick came this weekend when Black Panther passed Titanic on the list of highest-grossing North American box office titles. Fans and critics alike have been singing the praises of Wakanda, and with the forthcoming home release, that's not likely to stop any time soon. What is surprising is that Black Panther may still be trucking along in theaters by the time the Blu-ray is out. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life. You know, put on some trousers, drive the the closest movie theater, and buy a ticket for Black Panther?

Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is the eighteenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). But perhaps most exciting is "The Warrior's Within", which will explore the women of Wakanda and the powerful actresses that portray them. However, it has already surpassed Iron Man 3 at $1.21 billion and Captain America: Civil War at $1.15 billion. The release comes right after Infinity War, too, so audiences may be riding a Marvel high and more willing to plunk down some money to own the groundbreaking film.
Ryan Coogler's film hits digital, Movies Anywhere and 4K UHD on May 8th and Blu-ray on May 15th.
