Ryan Coogler's much beloved superhero movie is now sitting on the bronze medal podium behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($936.7 million) and Avatar ($760.5 million). And the Internet seems to agree.
Now, Ryan Coogler's Black Panther, having grossed around $US661 ($861) million in its incredible box office run, has narrowly edged the ship-sinking epic out, cementing its place as the third highest-grossing U.S. theatrical release of all time.
The service has sold over 1 million tickets for the movie.
The film that stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Letitia Wright, Angela Bassett, Winston Duke, and Sterling K. Brown among others has been breaking record right and left since its debut in February and it shows no signs of slowing down.More news: Person Killed In Trump Tower Fire

Overall, Black Panther has so far grossed over $1.3 billion at the worldwide box and remains Marvel's highest domestic-grossing film ever. Its follow-up and the biggest Marvel film to date, Avengers: Infinity War will release this month on 27th, and it, too, is expected to shatter multiple box office records.
Black Panther finished Friday (April 6) with a domestic total of $659.3 million, just shy of the $659.5 million grossed by Titanic, which sailed into theaters in late 1997.
"Black Panther" would have to disappear from theaters to not overtake it Saturday.
We'll see if "Black Panther" can remain at the top of MoviePass' list, though.
