Those with more than one Echo can say "Alexa, announce..." in order to send an audio message transmitted to every Echo device on the same network. Think of it as a one-way intercom, with no set up is required.
Amazon is rolling out a feature today that lets users broadcast messages to connected Echo devices. It's true Alexa doesn't work the same way it does on the Echo series but the company is making big changes. The company is calling it Alexa Announcements, and the functionality is very similar to the broadcast feature Google Home has had since late past year.More news: Kim Jong Un Watches Performance by South Korean Pop Stars in North

Where are Alexa Announcements available?
Amazon (amzn) has been steadily releasing new Alexa features meant to be used across multiple Echo devices.
Which Echo devices support the feature? It has preset sounds which can be triggered by Google Home broadcasts, for particular incidents. Just as with Amazon's other multi-Echo features, like Drop In, multi-room music, and calling & messaging, the goal is to encourage greater adoption of the smart speakers in a broader number of rooms.
Amazon says the feature is rolling out this week.
