Rep. Adam Schiff wants to determine whether Prince lied to the panel about a meeting previous year in the Seychelles that evidence suggests was an effort to establish a backchannel between the incoming Trump administration and the Kremlin, they said.
"I don't think this impairs the credibility of the Mueller probe", Napolitano said on "America's Newsroom".
There are so many things being investigated here, it's hard to believe that Mueller isn't going to be able to prove some serious criminal misconduct.
Prince said he went to the Seychelles as a private businessman, not as an official or unofficial emissary of the Trump transition team.
According to the Post, investigators now suspect the Seychelles meeting may have been one of the first efforts to establish such a line of communications between the two governments. In fact, Prince-founder of the security firm Blackwater and brother of Education Secretary Betsy DeVos-testified to a House panel about it past year.More news: EU doesn't want a 'wall' with Britain: bloc's president

WaPo's reporting at the time also relied on anonymous sources - the legacy outlet has frequently used such journalistic techniques while reporting on the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election. Lewandowski, who was sacked from the campaign in June 2016, is the last individual the committee is known to now have scheduled for an interview.
Prince also told congressional investigators he did not remember when or where he had a conversation with Steve Bannon, then a senior Trump adviser, during which Bannon told Prince he had met MBZ in NY in December, just weeks before Prince traveled to the Seychelles.
There are, Schiff said, "any number of steps that any credible investigator would say need to be done and we still hope that they will be".
