Apple is working on updated AirPods and its "own-brand, high-end over-ear headphones" with an "all-new design", reports KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Now, this is not the only wireless charger in the market but is, for now, the only one that allows charging of up to three different devices at the same time. He's now the media's darling for insider analyst news on Apple, but as TMO's Bryan Chaffin routinely points out on Apple Context Machine, his accuracy is pretty spotty.
Since we do not have any idea about the design of the new headphones, it is not clear to us what Kuo meant by the "all-new" design that these new headphones would sport.More news: Seriously injured 15yo cousin of Ahed Tamimi arrested by Israeli soldiers

What's likely in this situation is that Apple is working on new wireless headphones, they'll ship under the Beats brand, and they'll pairt with your iPhone AirPods-style-just like the Beats Solo3 already do. The iPhone maker would undoubtedly give utmost priority to the audio quality to differentiate it from Beats and other similar headphones.
It is also expected that the Cupertino-based company will introduce an upgraded version of the AirPods in the second half of this year. Unlike earbuds, the new set of headphones would have Apple branding. The analyst expects a 100% to 200% jump in the component orders in fiscal 2018, while shipments of assembled devices is expected to rise 60% to 80%. Admittedly, tapping the Airpods twice to activate the personal assistant doesn't sound like too much work, but they still decided to make it even easier. An uptick in demand can be credited to the new iPhone owners, who migrated towards more wireless earbuds.
