The Trump administration continues to have trouble filling positions a year after the inauguration: The latest opening comes as Carl Higbie resigned Thursday from the the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) after his insulting comments about LGBT Americans, women, people of color, veterans and immigrants were brought to light by CNN.
"Effective immediately, Carl Higbie has resigned as Chief of External Affairs at CNCS", said Samantha Jo Warfield, a spokesperson for CNCS, in a statement.
"Well people are like, 'well, you can't hate somebody just for being Muslim.' It's like, yeah, I can", Higbie said.
Higbie declined a request for comment from The Hill. In an interview on Megyn Kelly's Fox News show in November 2016, Higbie cited the effectiveness of Japanese internment camps in the US during World War II as "precedent" for a Muslim registry system.
Higbie is a former Navy SEAL who served in Iraq and was a Trump surrogate during the 2016 campaign. "I just don't like Muslim people because their ideology sucks". But these comments weren't taken from secret recordings or wiretaps: They were on the radio for anyone to hear.
"The president needs to protect America first, and if that means having people that are not protected under our Constitution have some sort of registry so we can understand ― until we can identify the true threat and where it's coming from ― I support it", said Higbie. I don't like them.
He also said he was bothered by black Americans calling themselves African-Americans when they had not been to Africa: "So barring dual citizenship, you're American or you're African, but you're not both". Those words do not reflect who I am or what I stand for, I regret saying them.More news: Michael Douglas Accused of Sexual Harassment by Journalist Susan Braudy

Talking on a similar show in 2013, Higbie said dark ladies think "rearing is a type of government work", Kaczynski underscored. Last night I informed the WH that I was resigning so as not to distract from POTUS' many success.
"Now on the other hand, out of the 25 or so black people, only one, only one person, was actually cordial to me". In one episode in 2013, he said USA citizens with guns should be allowed to shoot undocumented immigrants at the border. You cross my border, I will shoot you in the face.
He called California Sen.
He also blasted the legalization of gay marriage in Rhode Island, saying: "Congratuf'in'lations, you suck, Rhode Island". In a following episode he revealed what he felt about gay people: "You know, I don't like gay people".
"I was molested by a gay guy when I was a young kid and that kind of set the precedence for me", he added.
