"I have a very good relationship with Mexico". But they oppose Trump's wall, which government estimates have said could cost over $21 billion.
The Trump administration's planned "border wall system" would ultimately include 864 miles of a "new main wall and 1,163 of a replacement or secondary barrier", Politico reported, citing information in a five-page document it obtained.
The administration's plan, per the document, is to almost double the amount of fencing along the border, from 654 miles now to around 1,000 in total.

Senator Thom Tillis, one of a handful of Republican senators who met with Trump on Thursday, returned to Capitol Hill saying it was possible a bill could hit the Senate floor later this month.

"With this demand, he seems to be heading in that direction", Durbin said in a statement.
Trump will host a bipartisan meeting early next week to discuss the issue.
