This is the second terror tunnel the IDF has exposed and destroyed in a month's time. The tunnel destroyed on Sunday ran hundreds of metres into Israeli territory and, though unfinished, was a new project that showed "a significant effort by Hamas", military spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Jonathan Conricus told reporters.
Conricus described the tunnel as "very substantial", adding that it had communication systems, air vents, electricity and reinforced concrete structure. The tunnel could have been used to abduct soldiers or carry out a devastating terror attack within an Israel community.More news: SoulCalibur VI Will Get Here in 2018

Besides the steps taken by the IDF against the terror tunnels, Hamas has restraint forces in order to prevent terrorists from closing in on areas near the Israeli border. The tunnel destroyed on Sunday had been discovered several weeks ago and was monitored by the military, Conricus said. His Intelligence Minister, Israel Katz, said the army action conveyed a clear message that "the era of the tunnel threat is nearing an end". It now seems that there is a possibility to discover additional terror tunnels, which challenges Hamas from restraining itself.
It is the second terror tunnel neutralized in recent weeks.
During the 2014 Gaza war, Hamas militants launched surprise attacks from tunnels that crossed under Israel's security fence and into Israel.
