By 6:20 a.m. local time, the fast-moving brush fire, fueled by 25 miles per hour winds, was burning about 50 acres in western Los Angeles, prompting residents of several posh neighborhoods to evacuate their homes, according to the Los Angeles Times. The fire prompted evacuation orders for about 27,000 people and destroyed at least 150 structures. The media mogul purchased the estate in 2013 for $28.8 million, according to Bloomberg.
The fire started near a creek and is threatening homes along the 210 freeway. County fire Chief Daryl Osby said two of his firefighters were injured.
The fire was first reported just before 4 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol's incident website.
Karen Misraje, a partner and branch manager with Partners' Trust, now part of Pacific Union International, and president of the Beverly Hills/Greater Los Angeles Association of Realtors, said firefighters would be informed by the 1961 fire in Bel-Air. All North Bound lanes of the 405 are closed in the area.More news: Facebook unveils messaging App for kids

The fire has torn through the city of Ventura and has destroyed 120 buildings. Many were evacuated from the nearby homes, including Chelsea Handler.
"It's critical residents stay ready and evacuate immediately if told to do so". Homes in the Santiago Estates development in Sylmar were visibly burned.
The weather conditions were impeding efforts to contain and extinguish the out-of-control blaze, as strong, gusty winds fueled the "extreme" fire behavior, according to the inciweb incident information website.
Power was reported out at one point to more than 250,000 customers in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties.
More than a dozen shelters have been set up to help evacuated residents. Large-animal evacuation centers at Pierce College, the Los Angeles Equestrian Center and Hansen Dam Recreation Area quickly reached capacity.
