It's why it helps that Taggart, a Florida native and former USF head coach, has been around the block in the Sunshine State.
Taggart had only been at OR for one year after leaving USF, so he's part of a lot of coaching turnover in the state of Florida.
The Florida State Seminoles have found their new head coach.
Both of Taggart's previous head coaching stops have been rebuilds of sorts. Cristobal's task, now, will be to prep up the Ducks for their Las Vegas Bowl showdown with Boise State on December 16 as OR goes about their coaching search. But Taggart will also head to Tallahassee to take the highest-profile job he's ever had, and with the pressure to bring a program coming off a down year back to glory quickly.
"His values are in line with ours, with academics as important as the product on the field", said Ed Burr, chairman of Florida State's board of trustees. After one season at Oregon, Bruce Feldman of Sports Illustrated and Fox Sports has confirmed Taggart is set to be named the next Seminoles' head coach.More news: Airplane Flight Crew Gets Front Row Seat To North Korean Missile Test

It hasn't even been a year since Taggart held his introductory press conference at OR, replacing Mark Helfrich. The money Taggart is getting and what his coaching staff will look like is not yet known.
The Florida State football program has its new leader.
Oregon's potentially historic class is beginning to slide.
FSU will play Southern Miss in the Independence Bowl while Taggart's old school, Oregon, faces Boise State in the Las Vegas Bowl.
