In doing this, Honor has set itself apart by showcasing its own bravery to do things differently and to take the steps needed to usher in the latest technologies and innovations for its customers.
On the inside, a middle-range Kirin 695 processor keeps the lights on on board of the device, aided by 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.
The Honor V10 is powered by a 3,750mAh battery.
Honor has not yet announced pricing for the View 10 in the United States, but we do know the device will sell for £450 in the United Kingdom and €500 in Europe.
A well-built, but not entirely original design.
If you're in the market for a hefty mid-range smartphone, the Honor 7X may be worth taking a look at.
Honor unveils View 10 with 5.99-inch screen & AI capabilities
It sports a 5.93-inch full-HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) 18:9 resolution IPS display. The 6-inch screen diagonal at this aspect ratio means it fits comfortably in the hand, and while it's a little slick, it's not what you'd call a particularly slippery fish.
Have you ever tried an Honor-branded smartphone? So it's just a flat piece of metal on the back. Nevertheless, build quality is solid, as we've come to expect from both Huawei and its online sub-brand. It combines the best features of the Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro, but there are some omissions, too.
The fingerprint sensor on this device is placed beneath the display and also comes with Face Unlock feature.
Why this matters: Huawei surpassed Apple earlier this year as No. 2 smartphone maker in the world, but it has yet to break into the USA market in a meaningful way.
As for connectivity, the Honor V10 packs in the usual flagship-grade connectivity options, but brings something new with dual 4G and dual VoLTE standby. Honor SuperCharge claims to charge the battery to 50 per cent in just 30 minutes while operating at a low temperature and voltage. And gender detection for portraits lets the phone enable different kinds of beauty enhancements for men and women. There's also a 13MP front facing camera.
This is one area which is pivotal to the performance of the phone.
It's the same setup that gave the Mate 10 Pro's camera its clever object recognition capabilities, and Honor tells us the View 10 will receive the same functionality. The biggest sticking point will likely be Huawei's highly differentiated (and some might say not entirely pretty) EMUI software, which isn't as clean as super-lean OxygenOS. The device will be available in India, US, UK, France and other countries starting from January 8. It will sell for €499 (£449) and will be available in Blue.More news: Snow, flurries possible later this week as cold temps settle in
