He said Talha Rashid and the Divisional Commander of JeM, Mohammad Bhai and a local militant, Wasim Ahmad Ganie were killed in the encounter.
Meanwhile, security forces busted two hideouts of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) in central Kashmir's Ganderbal district on Monday but no arrests were made. Earlier, an Indian soldier was killed in an attack in the same area.
Two AK-47s and a pistol were found from the site of the encounter.
While the police had said that the civilian was caught in cross fire during the encounter, the locals had alleged that he was "deliberately" targeted by the security forces during the protests. "The matter will have to be taken thorough different channels, with concerned embassies", he said.
"But the policy is increasingly undermining China's own strategic interests and stated foreign policy objectives", he said, noting that in September, China had, for the first time, relented to including specific criticism of the Jaish-e- Mohammed (JeM) and other Pakistani terror outfits in the statement issued at the BRICS summit in Xiamen. "So we have reasons to believe that this particular weapon was given by the Pakistani army to JeM cadres and this clearly shows the complicity between JeM and Pakistan and their nefarious designs in Kashmir", Raju said.
