Shazam! Abracadabra! DC has just used its magic wand to snatch one of Marvel's actors - Thor: Ragnarok's Zachary Levi - to play a lead character in Shazam! Who is playing young Billy Batson, Captain Marvel's alter ego?
Due to the light-hearted nature of the film, Zachary Levi is an appropriate choice since he starred in the comedy called "Chuck".
Some interesting names were rumoured to have been on the shortlist including Armie Hammer, John Cena, Billy Magnussen, Derek Theler (star of the sitcom Baby Daddy), Zane Holtz (From Dusk Til Dawn: The Series) and Jake McDorman (Limitless TV series). The word is an acronym of 6 Greek elders; Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles, and Mercury.More news: Congress Votes To Let Banks Ban Customer Lawsuits

Zachary Levi signed on to star in the big-screen, comic-book adaptation of "Shazam!". Recent Shazam comics have had the character calling himself Shazam (which can be unsafe when saying your name also turns you back into a powerless adolescent). That's why so many Captain Marvel comics (and now the movie) leverage the name Shazam instead.
Fan artist BossLogic, meanwhile, has shared a first look at what Levi as Shazam could look like.
What we do know for certain is that "Shazam" is expected to shift into production rather quickly with filming for the movie kicking off in February 2018 with a 2019 release date in theaters, although no specific date has been confirmed.
Finally, one of DC's superheroes will get his own movie.
