Microsoft has been pushing for cross-platform play in recent months. However, this username was found on Xbox Live.

Sony did not respond to a request for comment, but judging from the one Epic made, it sounds like cross-platform play won't be coming back to Fortnite.
Suspicion was raised by redditor PRE_-CISION-_, after they spotted a Gamertag with a space in it. PS4 does not allow spaces in PSN names. Over Reddit private messages, he told me, "I noticed the gamer tag of this dude had a space in it, which was freakish. I searched for his tag with an underscore on Playstation Network without any luck". This may explain the incredible concurrent player numbers for the new Fortnite's Battle Royale mode. After reaching out to the player, PRE_-CISION-_ says he confirmed the identities matched. Players are supposed to be able to share progression between their PS4 and PC accounts, but they aren't supposed to be able to play with or against others on different platforms. It was a charming picture, but raised a lot of questions among the community-why wasn't this great feature announced? It looks like these brief glimpses of the big, attractive world of cross-console play were total accidents.
Microsoft have said that they are continuing discussions with Sony regarding cross-platform play but so far the Japanese giant is refusing to allow the feature. "I don't know why that has to become the dialogue", he said.
