Simply select your device from upper left hand corner of iTunes, and click the 'Restore iPhone' button while holding down the left 'Shift' Key (Windows) or the left 'Option' key (Mac). What it adds in this update is the ability to sync with devices running iOS 11 and social music sharing for Apple Music subscribers.
Fans of Apple's iTunes may want to hold fire on downloading the latest desktop version of the app for Mac and Windows as version 12.7 removes access the App Store.
If you have an iOS app, ringtone or book that are no longer available for redownload, "you can move that content to your iOS device while plugged in to a computer with a USB cable", Apple says.
As noted by tech publication The Verge, Apple's decision to remove apps from iTunes appears to be a step by the company to streamline iTunes, which has become loaded with features that can make it confusing to navigate. It means the App Store (pictured below) and app library sections are completely gone. On the Mac, users will have to open the App Store from the Applications folder or from the App Dock. But all of that goes partially to waste if you don't take a proper route of installation of the available update. Following this, head to the update menu and you can see every detail there, as Apple has described how to install the iOS 11 beta here.
For most people, though, it is the loss of the App Store which is the biggest surprise in iTunes 12.7.
