Scorsese will reportedly produce The Joker origin film.
Warner Bros.' approach to an upcoming origin film for The Joker looks like it could be moving in a promising direction.
Meanwhile, Leo - who hasn't been in a film since The Revenant back in 2015 - won't hit the big screen again until he reunites with Scorsese for Killers Of The Flower Moon, which tells the story of a real-life murder mystery that eventually caused the creation of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, but even that project isn't anticipated to arrive until late 2018. This comes as DiCaprio has made a career of avoiding tent-pole Hollywood blockbusters and franchises. It's also thought that Jonah Hill could help to connect the dots between DiCaprio and the film as he is good friends with the actor after starring alongside him in "The Wolf Of Wall Street" and he also recently worked with Todd Phillips on 'War Dogs'.More news: Mattis orders more troops to Afghanistan

With all of this information on the table, it should be interesting to see which direction this project goes if Warners actually decides to make an offer to DiCaprio, and for which role it would be. Scorsese also has not closed his own deal yet.
It's important to note that this DiCaprio news came courtesy of a feature piece by The Hollywood Reporter and is not official news, but merely insider talk about the studio's intention. "But the attempt in itself sends a signal to talent that Warners wants to hire serious filmmakers to make serious films".
Thus far in the life of the DCEU, it hasn't necessarily been smooth sailing. "It's super dark and real". Indeed, most were surprised last week to hear that WB is developing a Joker origin story movie that will be unconnected to the DCEU, featuring a different actor in the lead role and potentially launching a brand new line of one-off DC movies that do not take place in the DCEU. Just kidding! There are only a thousand superhero films now in the works.
