Spotify has touched down on Microsoft's Xbox One, opening up the service to millions of gamers, allowing them to alter the soundtracks of their favourite titles. Players will be able to add their favorite games and best friends to the home screen through the new Add to Home option that appears when pressing the Menu button.
In a blog post on Xbox Wire, Spotify Product Director Mikael Ericsson made the announcement of the popular music service's availability, which should arrive at some point today. Word about a Spotify Music app for the Xbox came out already a couple days ago. Under Browse, players will find a Gaming hub that offers pre-curated playlists around certain gaming styles. Switching between tabs (new tabs are being added as well for People, Home and recent messages, broadcasts and captures, and a new action center [including settings]) is way faster and the same goes for moving between apps. However, for these updates, one will have to wait until the Windows 10 Fall Creators update, which will have an enhanced Game bar and Mixer broadcasting features, plus a new Xbox Live network troubleshooting area. That's right, the Spotify Music app on the console also features background playing.
Visually, the Xbox Spotify app looks to be pretty much the same as the PS4 version, and that's no bad thing. "And of course, don't forget to tell us what you think".
