Now, speaking with Town and Country, Lourd opens up about her struggle after losing her mother and grandmother Debbie Reynolds in December past year, sharing a story about how Fisher encouraged her during principal photography of The Force Awakens.
Speaking with ABC News, the star of the upcoming film Detroit said his fellow Star Wars castmate and late friend, Carrie Fisher, will appear onscreen for the final time in flawless manner. Boyega hilariously relates Finn's pushing Captain Phasma down the garbage chute to working at McDonald's and returning to work after having done that to his manager.
Fisher died in December, and Boyega says her Star Wars send-off in The Last Jedi will definitely do her justice. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has since said The Last Jedi was not changed to address Fisher's death, and that Leia will not appear in Episode IX. I was in Nigeria when we found out [about her death].
"It was odd. a unusual feeling", he recalled.
"I felt like everybody in the cast, and obviously around the world, went silent for a bit, kind of like a dimmed light", he remembered.More news: North Korea showing 'unprecedented levels' of submarine activity

"We have many scenes in this one coming up, we worked together closely", John, who joined the beloved franchise in 2015 as rogue stormtrooper Finn, told ABC News. Considering we know that Finn will finally be "a big deal" and be involved in an adventurous storyline with fellow Resistance member Rose (Kelly Marie Tran), Finn will recover from his injuries, but during his recovery we may see Finn and Leia spend some time together before he embarks with Rose (because we can't see the aged Leia running into a risky mission so soon after losing Han, but who knows).
"It sends her off in a very incredible, unbelievable way", he added.
There's also the question of how Leia will be written out of the trilogy.
The world may have grieved when actress, writer, and mental health advocate Carrie Fisher passed away a year ago but nobody could have probably felt more pained by the loss than the Star Wars legend's family.
