Alcohol sales in Saline County?

By: 3 May 2014 One Comment

1200px-Beer_Cans-1If you’ve been out grocery shopping, filling up your car at a gas station or have been in public in Saline County at all lately, the chances are good you’ve been approached by a petitioner asking for your signature so that the issue of whether package sales of alcohol should be allowed in our neck of the woods will be included on the November ballot.

The same effort is going on in Craighead County and both petition drives are spearheaded by a group out of Little Rock called Our Community, Our Dollars. Yes, Saline County is dry and there have been some grumblings of late about that seeing how things have changed over the years — the county population is over 110,000 and there are plenty of restaurants in the area that have been classified as private clubs and are able to sell alcohol.

The next logical step, then, seems to be to allow people to head to their favorite grocery store, convenience store or package store and buy alcohol should they choose to do that.

For more information, visit Our Community, Our Dollars on the Internet by clicking the handy, aforementioned link.

I wonder about the quality… Alcohol with a small amount is okay but too much is never good.
