Weekend OTR — Ray Bolger Show
Got a lazy weekend planned? Why not kick that relaxation into overdrive with a visit to the Golden Age of Radio with our Weekend OTR series?
What’s in store this weekend? A summer replacement show featuring Ray Bolger. He, of course, made has mark as the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz — most people recognize the Scarecrow, but how many people knew he ever starred in an old time radio program? The Ray Bolger Show was a summer replacement — something that was a bit of a placeholder while the big name stars were on vacation. The episode we’ve selected for you this weekend also features Frank Sinatra. Bonus!
Before you listen to this week’s program that, why not take a minute or two and visit the good folks at OTRCat.com? You’ll find a huge selection of old time radio programs over there and prices that are hard to beat. Oh, and don’t forget to come back every Sunday and check out the latest Lum and Abner comic strip posted here at First Arkansas News. We’ve got a new one of those every weekend and it’s just the thing for you old time radio fans — new adventures starring a couple of Arkansas boys who became international stars during the Golden Age of Radio.
