Bargains Galore on 64 set for Aug. 8-10

By: 12 June 2013 One Comment

Bargains Galore on 64It has been said that what appears in a newspaper is often determined by what the managing editor sees when he’s driving to work in the morning. While that may or may not be true, here’s something that is verifiable — here at First Arkansas News, what is sometimes covered depends on what terms pop up in our search analytics (for the record, the most popular search term over the past few weeks has related to the anticipated and snazzy retro gaming console, the Hyperkin RetroN 5 — go figure).

One search term that’s appeared a few times over the past week relates to Bargains Galore on 64 — the annual event here in the Natural State in which people wander down 160 miles of Arkansas 64 from Fort Smith in west Arkansas through Conway in central Arkansas and ending in Beebe. There are scores of flea markets, yard sales and antiques and collectables to explore. 2013 will mark the 14th year for the event, which is set for Aug. 8-10.

Click here for more a map, participating cities, lodging and more information about the event. The Facebook page for the event is here. Bargains Galore on 64 is sponsored by the Ozark Advertising & Promotion Commission.

Perhaps Bargains Galore on 64 will be a prime place for Arkansans to find Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), Sega Genesis and Nintendo Gameboy cartridges to feed their shiny, new RetroN 5s. There’s a thought…
