Awesome Site of the Week: The GuitarMann

By: 16 June 2013 No Comment

The GuitarMann!Welcome to yet another installment in our soon-to-be-ridiculously-famous Awesome Site of the Week series. That series, of course, serves as a guide to some of the great sites out there that you might have missed but should know about and visit often. No, we’re not talking about the ones that everyone knows — we’re talking about some of those out of the way sites that offer great content but might lack the marketing budget to take out television ads that grab your attention.

What site has earned our “certified awesome” designation this week? Believe it or not, it’s a Facebook page — The GuitarMann. The GuitarMann is none other than Justin Mann, a proud member of the Benton High School Class of 1987 and a fellow who developed his chops to the point where he was named the replacement guitarist for Tora Tora when that Memphis-based heavy metal band was on tour in support of its Wild America album in 1992.

Mann is back in Benton these days and is a guitar teacher. Yes, he promises to turn aspiring axe wielders into “Guitar Jedi” and his page is full of videos of students showing off what they’ve learned.

Click here for more awesome sitesAh, but there’s more to it than that. Mann also regularly posts videos showing off guitar techniques from a diverse array of artists (yes, it’s more than just metal, folks). He also updates his site regularly with guitar licks from various sources around the Internet.

Oh, and rumor has it Mann will start recording his own guitar licks and posting them on his site. Stay tuned for that.

Want to pay The GuitarMann a visit? Sure you do. Just click here and you’re on your way, pilgrim. If you’re in central Arkansas, why not make an inquiry about some lessons if you, too, want to be a Guitar Jedi.
