Benton Matters schedules Edison Avenue cleanup for June 8

By: 30 May 2013 No Comment

Go Benton!Benton Matters, which is part of the Benton Area Chamber of Commerce’s Go Benton initiative, will clean up trash and yard debris on Edison Avenue on June 8 from 8-11 a.m.

Benton Matters was formed this year for the purpose of identifying parts of town that need to be cleaned up and organize volunteers to spend a few hours picking up trash and making other improvements to those areas. The last cleanup project was on South Street and you can click here to read more about that effort.

Interested in helping on the June 8 project? If so, volunteers are asked to meet at the foot of the Second Street overpass near the Central Arkansas Development Council (CADC) at 321 Edison Ave. in Benton. Need directions to CADC? Click here for a map.

If you want to volunteer and bring some equipment, Benton Matters organizes said the following items are needed:

* Work gloves
* Weed eaters
* Leaf blowers
* Hedge trimmers
* Leaf blowers
* Rakes
* Other yard tools

Bear in mind that Benton Matters organizers are always looking for suggestions for other projects. Since Ethan C. Nobles, owner of First Arkansas News is co-chair of the Benton Matters committee, feel free to leave a comment here and it will be passed on to other committee members.
