Pitchford to appear this weekend on ‘Same Time, Same Station’

By: 5 April 2012 One Comment

Donnie Pitchford — the creator of our weekly Lum and Abner comic strip — will appear on Sunday, April 8 on “Same Time, Same Station,” an Internet broadcast.

Pitchford will discuss a bit about the history of Lum and Abner (Arkansas’ own old time radio stars), the National Lum and Abner Society (NLAS), how the comic strip came into being through his partnership with First Arkansas News and a host of other subjects. Pitchford, by the way, is the president of NLAS and that group of fans/preservationists is always looking for new people to get involved with the association.

So, how can one listen to the broadcast? There are a number of ways, so choose the one most convenient:

* Stream it on demand at Olde Tyme Radio Network on April 8.

* Stream it at 7 a.m. CDT at theglobalvoice.info.

* Stream it at 9 p.m. CDT at kmin980.com (or listen to it on your radio at 8 p.m. mountain on KMIN-980 AM out of Grants, N.M.)

* Download it on April 9 or 10 at radiooutofthepast.org.

* Stream it on April 14 at 2 p.m. CDT at YesterdayUSA.com.

* Stream it on demand at repspodcast.com.

Of course, make sure to see the latest Lum and Abner strip every Sunday here at First Arkansas News by clicking here.
