Reporter’s Notebook: Christmas at the Saline County Courthouse

By: 23 December 2011 One Comment

Every year in Benton, the Saline County Courthouse is spiffed up for Christmas.

A featured event at the annual Christmas parade near the first of December involves one lucky child from the county turning on the Christmas lights surrounding the courthouse lawn, thus signaling that the holiday season is in full swing. More lights get added every year and the events surrounding the courthouse during the December increase, too.

This year, on the Thursday before Christmas, visitors were treated to free hot chocolate and cookies and music from a vocal trio, Bryant-based CrossPoint. The following photos were taken on Thursday night and, hopefully, convey the activities on the courthouse lawn with some degree of accuracy.

The pictures of the courthouse and other things around the
courthouse are wonderful. The Christmas spirit of Saline
    County is captured beautifully.
