Holiday OTR: Jack Benny — Jack Buys Don Cuff Links

By: 3 December 2011 3 Comments

It’s December and you know what that means — it’s time to go wacky over classic, old time radio entertainment.

Christmas and OTR go hand in hand, so we at First Arkansas News naturally enjoy presenting some of these fine shows to help our readers celebrate the holiday. We also encourage old time radio fans to head on over to and buy a Christmas collection or two this time of year so they can spread the joy to friends and family. The Cat has provided the shows that have been essential to our Weekend OTR series since around the time this site started last year and he hasn’t charged us a dime for them. Why? The Cat wants to do his part to preserve the legacy of old time radio and he shows that with his generosity toward us and his ridiculously low prices for the shows he stocks in both MP3 and standard audio formats. Check out his store and pick up a gift or two, huh? Grab something for yourself while you’re over there.

Speaking of gifts, make sure to check out the new items we’ve added to our Lum and Abner Store. We’ve got shirts, iPhone cases, mouse pads, calendars and coffee mugs for sale, so grab a unique gift or two over there. Ah, and don’t forget to stop in every Sunday for a new Lum and Abner comic strip and stop in daily to hear our updated Christmas OTR serials — we’re posting the full runs of Jump Jump and the Ice Queen, the Cinnamon Bear and Christmas on the Moon. Don’t miss out — those shows will be gone at the first of 2012.

    Ethan –
I found this site due to your posting in the otrdigest. Very good.
I just listened to the Casey, Crime Photographer “Thunderbolt” story.
it’s one I have not heard before. Good Sound Quality, too.

Ken — glad you found your way over here! I’ve loved old time radio for years as my dad is a devoted him and I spent a lot of time growing up in the 1970s and 1980s hearing those shows with him. I simply can’t help sharing those shows with others.
