Christmas shopping for that OTR fan on your list

By: 5 November 2011 One Comment

My, but the year has gone by fast, hasn’t it?

Yes, Christmas is just around the corner and you don’t want to be caught unprepared, do you? Got an old time radio fan on your list this year? Why not take a few minutes, buy some wonderfully unique items online and get some of that shopping out of the way? Yes, the beauty of the Internet is that you can find about anything you want for a good price and purchase it while you goof off at home. Ah, technology!

At any rate, what kind of unique, can’t miss gifts are these? First and foremost, there’s the merchandise inspired by our very own Lum and Abner comic strips (click the link to have a look at the comics and remember that they are updated every Sunday). We’ve got coffee mugs, tee shirts, mouse pads and whole slew of Lum and Abner themed products and those are located here.

Bear in mind that we do get a little money every time one of those products is purchased. That money is used to keep the strip going — the more money that rolls in, the longer the strip will last. We’ve made it free for all who want to read it here at the site and it will always be free for visitors — hopefully, those who really enjoy it will pick up some merchandise and help support it.

If Lum and Abner merchandise doesn’t do the trick, why not consider grabbing some OTR programs for mere pennies per show from You’ll find shows in about every genre over there and one of the most comprehensive Christmas collections available.

The Cat, last year, gave us permission to post programs from his site here, thus making our Weekend OTR series possible. We appreciate his allowing us to do that and, as such, are more than happy to promote his site.

Oh, and speaking of Christmas, make sure to stop in here at First Arkansas News for a few holiday-related surprises later this month and throughout December.

Stay tuned…
