Spook City set for Oct. 29 in downtown Benton
What is Spook City? Simply put, it’s a chance for kids to put on costumes, play games, run wild and get free candy. It’s billed as a family-friendly event that thrives on the “lighter side” of Halloween and relies on the participation of area merchants. That’s right — all that free candy is largely provided by businesses in the city that set up booths and pass out treats for about three hours. Event organizers told First Arkansas News that 5,000 to 6,000 children are expected this year as the event simply grows every fall.
Spook City will run from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in downtown Benton on Market Street and the surrounding areas on Oct. 29. The event is free, so stick those kiddies in their costumes and bring them to downtown Benton for hours of candy-gobbling fun.
