Holiday OTR — Halloween programs

By: 31 October 2011 One Comment

So, you’ve bought candy for all those trick-or-treaters, maybe set up a screen and projector to show that Ghostbusters movie on your lawn to the delight of your neighbors and have perhaps even read your Halloween horoscope to get ready for the big holiday.

So, what other ways are there to help celebrate Halloween? Ah, fear not — we at First Arkansas News have a couple of dandy Halloween old time radio episodes picked out for your listening pleasure. Specifically, we’ve selected the famed War of the Worlds program that Orson Welles once used to scare the nation and a comedy featuring the Great Gildersleeve.

As always, these episodes are courtesy of our friends at OTRCat.com. If you’re a fan of old time radio, you owe it to yourself to pay The Cat a visit. Bear in mind that we do love the holiday season around here, so expect to see plenty of OTR programs posted through Christmas. You don’t want to miss those, do you?

Click the below links and enjoy the programs.

Mercury Theatre — War of the Worlds (10/30/1938)

The Great Gildersleeve — Halloween Party (10/31/1943)
