2011 Saline County Fair

By: 19 September 2011 One Comment

An appreciated warning.

Yes, the 2011 Saline County Fair is in the history books at this point, but we at First Arkansas News thought we’d share a few pictures, anyway.

The fair was held at the Saline County Fairgrounds in Benton (as usual) on Sept. 6-10. This year’s fair was a bit novel in that there were plans to replace the old Saline County Fairgrounds with a $55 million Fairplex. A 1-cent sales tax was needed to pay for the facility, but it was soundly defeated by voters in a special election in August 2010. Like it or not, the old Saline County Fairgrounds will be with us for — seemingly — quite some time.

At any rate, enjoy the photos from the 2011 fair. If you’re in the mood for more photographs, head on over to the Saline County Fair’s home on the Internet and have a look at some pictures from 2009 and 2010.

The Fireball -- a ride for the truly adventurous (and people who like to hang upside-down).

The Yo-Yo -- a fan favorite.

What's a county fair without bumper cars?
