Weekend OTR — Lucille Ball

By: 6 August 2011 No Comment

Lucille Ball’s 100th birthday was on Friday so it seems only appropriate to dedicate this edition of our Weekend OTR series to America’s favorite dizzy redhead.

Before Ball became a household name through the classic I Love Lucy television show, ball made a living in movies and through plenty of old time radio appearances. Any OTR fan who hasn’t listened to Ball’s excellent My Favorite Husband series should do that soon. It was, indeed, easy for Ball to make the jump from that show to I Love Lucy and one could argue that My Favorite Husband laid the groundwork Ball’s incredibly successful run on television.

As luck would have it, our friends at OTRCat.com are celebrating Ball’s birthday with special rates on My Favorite Husband and are offering a free Lucille Ball Collection. Click here to check those out, but hurry — those specials expire when the weekend does.

By the way, make sure to stop by for our new Lum and Abner strip tomorrow and also make sure to listen to our bit of modern audio theater, the Super Weasel Lawyer Team, if you haven’t already done so.
